Krösatågen AB is currently being established and is now looking for a Head of Traffic Planning who wants to take overall responsibility for leading strategic traffic planning in a business where collaboration, analysis, and long-term perspective are crucial. About the role As Head of Traffic Planning at Krösatågen AB, you will play a central role in developing, leading, and coordinating the strategic traffic planning for a regional rail system of significant public importance. You are responsible for the capacity allocation process, TRAV agreements with Trafikverket (the Swedish Transport Administration), and the long-term planning of traffic, capacity, and implementation. At the same time, you have important short-term responsibilities when operations do not run as planned, where the company needs to monitor both the delivery of traffic services and the contract with the traffic provider to ensure compliance with agreed terms.

The role operates in a complex environment where several regions, authorities, and suppliers need to interact – and where your ability to create structure, consensus, and progress is crucial. This means you will work on three levels simultaneously: strategic, tactical, and operational.

In this role, you represent the buyer's side in forums for traffic and planning, lead the internal traffic group, and collaborate closely with Trafikverket, the operating railway company, the owning regions, and other key stakeholders. You monitor punctuality, regularity, and capacity, drive the development of working methods and analyses, and contribute to ensuring that Krösatågen's traffic develops with high quality, good coordination, and long-term sustainability.

The role reports to the CEO and is part of Krösatågen's executive management.

Your profile We are looking for you who have several years of experience in traffic planning, strategic planning, timetable work, or similar operations. You have likely worked in roles where you have coordinated complex issues between buyers, authorities, suppliers, and other stakeholders, and you have a good understanding of how traffic, capacity, operations, and economics are interconnected. Experience from railways, public transport, or other critical societal functions is highly meritorious.

As a person, you are structured, analytical, and communicative, with a natural ability to build trust in collaboration with many different actors. You thrive in environments where a holistic perspective, precision, and long-term thinking are central, and you have the ability to translate analysis and planning into concrete decisions and improvements. You express yourself well in Swedish and English and are experienced in using planning tools, monitoring systems, and analytical data.

The traffic is operated on behalf of six regional public transport authorities – Region Jönköping County, Region Kalmar County, Region Kronoberg, Region Halland, Region Blekinge, and Region Skåne – and covers approximately 7.5 million train kilometers per year, serving around 80 stations. Krösatågen AB is now being formed to create clearer responsibility, stronger governance, and better conditions for the long-term sustainable development of traffic, vehicles, and operations. At the same time, a comprehensive modernization of the vehicle fleet with 28 new trains is underway, making this a particularly exciting time to join the organization.
